Charles McClellan "Charlie" Talbert is an American film actor who was born on December 13, 1978, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He is most widely recognized for his starring role as the title character in the 1995 teen film Angus. Following his breakthrough, he continued his career with appearances in numerous films and television projects. His filmography includes roles in movies such as Bachelor Party Vegas, Art School Confidential, The Big Short, I Saw the Light, Where the Crawdads Sing, Shelby Oaks (2025) and Quiz Lady. On television, he has appeared in series and miniseries including Hap and Leonard, Watchmen, The Underground Railroad, Love & Death, and Secrets of Sulphur Springs. Talbert has often performed in the same films as actor Chris Owen, who played his best friend Sherman in Angus.
