Jo Min-soo (born January 29, 1965, in Seoul, South Korea) is a highly respected South Korean actress with a career spanning over four decades. She initially entered the entertainment industry through television commercials in 1983 and made her official debut in 1986 through KBS TV Cultural Center.Jo Min-soo is particularly known for her powerful and often intense performances. Her most internationally acclaimed role came in Kim Ki-duk's controversial and critically lauded film "Pietà" (2012), where her portrayal of a mysterious woman claiming to be a mother earned her numerous "Best Actress" awards, including at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards and the Grand Bell Awards.
