Chord Overstreet

Chord Paul Overstreet, born on February 17, 1989, in Nashville, Tennessee, is an American actor, singer, and musician best known for his breakout role as Sam Evans on the Fox musical series Glee (2010–2015). Raised in a deeply musical family, he is the son of Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Paul Overstreet and the brother of Nash Overstreet, the guitarist for the band Hot Chelle Rae. His unique name reflects his heritage, as he was the third of six children born to his parents, and a musical chord is composed of three notes. Encouraged to play instruments from a young age, Overstreet mastered the mandolin, drums, flute, piano, and guitar before moving to Los Angeles after high school to pursue an entertainment career. After early guest spots on shows like iCarly and the web series Private, he joined the cast of Glee in its second season, where his charm and vocal talent made him a fan favorite and earned him a Teen Choice Award. In addition to his television success, Overstreet has cultivated a significant career as a solo musical artist. In 2016, he signed with Safehouse Records—a label founded by Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas—and released his debut single "Homeland." His most successful track to date, the emotional ballad "Hold On," was released in 2017 and eventually earned double-platinum certification in the United States after gaining massive popularity on streaming platforms and in television syncs. He continues to release music under the moniker OVERSTREET, blending pop, rock, and folk influences. His acting career has seen a significant resurgence in recent years; since 2021, he has starred as Chad in the Apple TV+ comedy series Acapulco, and in 2022, he reached a global audience as the leading man Jake Russell in the Netflix holiday film Falling for Christmas. He also made a guest appearance in the 2024 ABC medical drama Doctor Odyssey, continuing to balance his work between high-profile streaming projects and his evolving discography.
