He rose to prominence with his role as Luke Ward in the popular teen drama series "The O.C." (2003–2004). His career further diversified with significant roles in television, including the country music drama "Nashville" (2012–2018), where he played the character of Will Lexington, and the medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" (2018–present) as Dr. Atticus Lincoln.Beyond his television work, Carmack has appeared in various films such as "The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations," "Into the Blue 2: The Reef," "Love Wrecked," "Beauty & the Briefcase," and "Alpha and Omega."
