Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes (born Cody Garrett Runnels on June 30, 1985, in Charlotte, North Carolina) is a premier American professional wrestler and actor. The son of WWE legend Dusty Rhodes and half-brother of Dustin Rhodes, Cody earned two Georgia state wrestling titles and debuted in WWE in 2006, capturing multiple tag-team and Intercontinental championships before departing in 2016 . He reached new heights on the independent scene and in New Japan Pro‑Wrestling (NJPW), then became a founding figure of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019, serving as executive vice president and winning titles like the AEW TNT Championship. In 2022, Rhodes returned to WWE with fanfare, winning back-to-back Royal Rumbles (2023, 2024), the 2025 King of the Ring tournament, and the Undisputed WWE Championship—achieving WrestleMania main‑event status four times . Fans and critics alike acclaimed him as Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s 2024 Wrestler of the Year, echoing his father’s triumphs. Standing at 6′2″ and billed from Atlanta/Charlotte, Rhodes is also branching into acting—appearing on TV shows like Arrow and Go‑Big Show, and starring (alongside wife Brandi Rhodes) in Rhodes to the Top. In 2025, he makes his film debut with a cameo in The Naked Gun reboot opposite Liam Neeson. Outside the ring, he’s married to Brandi and they share a daughter, Liberty Iris, with fatherhood now a guiding priority.
