Cole Doman is an American actor, writer, and producer, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 13, 1993, and currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He is a trained stage and film actor who studied at the prestigious School at Steppenwolf, where he learned under notable figures like Amy Morton and Tarell Alvin McCraney. Doman is recognized as an indie film stalwart, making his feature film debut in 2015 as the titular character in the critically acclaimed coming-of-age movie, "Henry Gamble's Birthday Party," a performance hailed as one of the "Best Breakout Performances of 2016" by The Film Stage. Since then, he has consistently taken on complex, often queer-themed roles, starring as Young Frank Bledsoe in Alan Ball's "Uncle Frank" (2020) and leading the 2023 Sundance film "Mutt," which explores a day in the life of a young trans man. Doman has also appeared in mainstream television, including roles on "Gossip Girl," "Modern Family," "Law & Order: SVU," and "Shameless," and his notable stage work includes the world premiere of Your Own Personal Exegesis at Lincoln Center Theatre.
