Damian Lewis
Born on February 11, 1971, in St John's Wood, London, Damian Lewis CBE is a world-renowned British actor, producer, and musician. Educated at Eton College and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he rose to international prominence through his Golden Globe-nominated portrayal of Major Richard Winters in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers (2001). Lewis is best known for his chameleon-like ability to master American accents and complex characters, most notably as the duplicitous Nicholas Brody in Homeland—for which he won both a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe—and as the ruthless hedge fund billionaire Bobby "Axe" Axelrod in the hit series Billions. His versatility also extends to historical drama, earning acclaim for his role as Henry VIII in Wolf Hall and its 2024 sequel, The Mirror and the Light. In 2024 and 2025, Lewis has significantly diversified his career, embracing both "unhinged" comedy and a burgeoning music career. In the 2025 period parody Fackham Hall, he stars as the eccentric patriarch Lord Humphrey Davenport, a role that allows him to showcase a rare slapstick side alongside Katherine Waterston. He also recently appeared in the vampire comedy The Radleys (2024), where he played dual roles as twin brothers. Beyond the screen, Lewis released his debut album Mission Creep (2023) and spent much of 2025 on tour, including a high-energy "mini-tour" of Ireland in October. He was previously married to the late actress Helen McCrory, with whom he has two children, and has been in a relationship with musician Alison Mosshart since 2022.
