Daniel Bernhardt (born August 31, 1965) is a Swiss actor, stuntman, martial artist, and former model. He is a prominent figure in action films, known for his imposing physical presence and extensive martial arts background. Bernhardt began his martial arts journey at the age of 15, ultimately earning black belts in Taekwondo under Grandmaster Hee-il Cho and Kyokushin Karate under Mas Oyama.Before his acting career, Bernhardt was a successful international model, working for major fashion houses. His transition to film began in 1996 when he was cast in the leading role of Bloodsport II: The Next Kumite, a sequel to the popular Jean-Claude Van Damme film. He reprised his role as Alex Cardo in two further sequels, Bloodsport III and Bloodsport 4: The Dark Kumite. He also starred as Siro in the television series Mortal Kombat: Conquest (1998-1999), based on the video game.Bernhardt's career further diversified into stunt work and supporting roles in major Hollywood productions. He is notably recognized for his role as Agent Johnson in The Matrix Reloaded (2003), where he had intense fight sequences with Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne. He has since become a frequent collaborator with the 87Eleven Action Design team (founded by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch), contributing to numerous high-profile action films as both an actor and stunt performer. His credits include all three John Wick films (playing Kirill in the first), Logan, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Nobody (for which he also trained Bob Odenkirk), and The Matrix Resurrections where he reprised Agent Johnson. Beyond acting, Bernhardt has also worked as a fight choreographer on films like Creed II and Nobody.
