Daniel Ings

Daniel Ings is a British actor, born in 1985. He studied theatre studies at Lancaster University, graduating in 2008, and also trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the National Youth Theatre. His career began with work on the small screen in shows like Pete Versus Life and the comedy-drama Psychoville. He is perhaps best known for his lead role as Luke Curran in the Channel 4/Netflix romantic comedy series Lovesick (2014–2018). Ings has appeared in numerous other notable television projects, including portraying Commander Mike Parker in the Netflix series The Crown (2016–2017), Cob Betterton in the acclaimed Sky Atlantic series I Hate Suzie (2020–2022), Dan in Sex Education (2019–2023), and Frederick "Freddy" Horniman in the Netflix series The Gentlemen (2024). His film credits include a small part in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) and the Hugh Jackman biopic Eddie the Eagle (2016). Ings has also worked on stage, notably as an understudy for Benedict Cumberbatch in the 2011 production of Frankenstein at the National Theatre. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for his work on The Crown.
