Danny Pudi

Danny Pudi is an American actor, director, and writer, best known for his role as Abed Nadir on the NBC sitcom Community (2009–2015). Born on March 10, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois, Pudi is of Indian and Polish descent. He graduated from Marquette University in 2001 with a degree in Communication and later studied improv at Chicago's Second City Conservatory. Before pursuing acting, he worked as an actuarial recruiter.. Pudi's portrayal of Abed, a pop culture-savvy student with a unique perspective on reality, earned him critical acclaim and multiple nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Following Community, he voiced Huey Duck in the 2017 reboot of DuckTales and starred as Brad Bakshi in the Apple TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest (2020–present). In addition to his acting career, Pudi made his directorial debut with the ESPN Films documentary short Untucked, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Pudi is married to Bridget Showalter, whom he met during their freshman year at Marquette University. The couple has two children, twins James Timothy and Fiona Leigh, born in 2012.
