Darko Peric

Darko Perić is a Serbian-Spanish actor, best known for his breakthrough role as the beloved character Helsinki (Mirko Dragić) in the hugely successful Spanish crime thriller series, La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), which ran from 2017 to 2021 and won an International Emmy Award for Best Drama. Born on March 25, 1977, in Kladovo, SR Serbia, Perić initially studied veterinary medicine in Romania after the Yugoslav Wars halted his artistic dreams, but he soon rediscovered his passion and began acting in short films. He later moved to Berlin and then settled in Barcelona in 2004, which became the base for his burgeoning career in Spanish television and film. Before gaining global recognition with Money Heist, he had notable roles in the Spanish series Crematorio (2010) and Mar de plástico (2016), as well as the 2015 feature film A Perfect Day. Perić is known for his large, distinctive physique, proficiency in multiple languages, and for teaching Qigong, a practice he promotes for physical and mental preparation for actors.
