David DeLuise

David DeLuise (born David Dominick DeLuise on November 11, 1971, in Burbank, California) is an American actor and television director best known as the lovable patriarch Jerry Russo on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place (2007–2012), a role that earned him widespread acclaim and showcased his blend of warmth and comedic timing . The youngest son of comedian Dom DeLuise and actress Carol Arthur—and godson to Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft—David began acting at age eight, appearing alongside his father in films such as Hot Stuff (1979) and the TV movie Happy (1983). Over the years, he built a diverse résumé with recurring TV roles in 3rd Rock from the Sun, Stargate SG‑1, Gilmore Girls, and guest spots on NCIS, Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy, and Baby Daddy. In addition to acting, DeLuise has lent his voice to animated series like Megas XLR (as Coop) and Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, and appeared in feature films including Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Vampires Suck, Pup Star, and the 2025 dramedy The Italians.
