David Gyasi

David Gyasi (born January 2, 1980) is a British actor known for his compelling performances across a range of film and television productions. Born in Hammersmith, London, to Ashanti Ghanaian parents, Gyasi initially harbored dreams of becoming a footballer before pursuing acting. He studied Drama at Middlesex University and began his career with roles in television shows like "Mike Bassett: Manager" (2005) and films such as "Shooting Dogs" (2005).Gyasi has since gained significant recognition for his work in major Hollywood films, including "Cloud Atlas" (2012) where he played multiple roles, and particularly Christopher Nolan's science fiction epic "Interstellar" (2014) as Romilly. His filmography also includes "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), "Annihilation" (2018), "Hunter Killer" (2018), "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" (2019), "Cold Blood" (2019), and "Come Away" (2020).On television, Gyasi has had prominent roles in various series, showcasing his versatility. He is known for his work in the BBC series "White Heat" (2012), "Troy: Fall of a City" (2018) where he played Achilles, and the CW miniseries "Containment" (2016). He is married to Emma Gyasi, and they have two children, including their daughter Elèna who is also an actress.
