David Midthunder

David Midthunder, born on August 8, 1962, is a Native American actor and stuntman, an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana, representing the Lakota Sioux and Assiniboine tribes. He grew up in New Mexico and graduated from Stewart Indian School in Nevada before studying Cultural Anthropology at the University of Utah. Midthunder has had a prolific acting career spanning over three decades, known for portraying Native American characters as well as others in film and television. His notable film roles include appearances in "The Missing" (2003), "Hidalgo" (2004), "Ghosts of the Heartland" (2009), "Terminator Salvation" (2009), "The Book of Eli" (2010), "Cowboys & Aliens" (2011), "Transformers: Age of Extinction" (2014), and "Bone Tomahawk" (2015). On TV, he has been featured in series such as "Rough Riders," "Into the West," "Westworld," and "Longmire," where he portrayed the character David Ridges across multiple seasons. He is also active in Native American cultural practices and advocacy for Native rights. Midthunder lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his wife Angelique and is the father of actress Amber Midthunder. In 2024, he appeared in "The Thicket" as the character Black Mouth.
