Dominic Cooper is an English actor, born on June 2, 1978, in Greenwich, London. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), graduating in 2000.Cooper has a diverse career spanning film, television, and theatre. He first gained significant recognition for his role as Dakin in the stage play The History Boys, a role he reprised in the 2006 film adaptation. His film credits include his portrayal of Sky in the musical hit Mamma Mia! (2008) and its sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), and as the young Howard Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and the series Agent Carter (2015–2016). Other notable film roles include The Devil's Double (2011), Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012), Need for Speed (2014), Dracula Untold (2014), and King Llane Wrynn in Warcraft (2016).On television, Cooper is well-known for his lead role as Jesse Custer in the AMC series Preacher (2016–2019).
