Dominique Thorne is an American actress known for her portrayal of Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Born on November 5, 1997, in New York City to Trinidadian immigrants, Thorne developed an early interest in the arts and pursued formal training at the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan. Her talent was recognized early on; in 2015, she was named a National YoungArts Winner in Spoken Theater and received the U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts award, one of the highest honors for young artists in the United States . Thorne made her feature film debut in 2018 with Barry Jenkins's If Beale Street Could Talk, where she played Shelia Hunt, the younger sister of the protagonist Fonny Hunt. The film received critical acclaim and won several awards, including the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Independent Motion Picture . In 2022, Thorne joined the MCU as Riri Williams/Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
