Dong Chengpeng, more widely known by his stage name Da Peng, is a versatile and highly successful Chinese actor, film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born on January 12, 1982, in Ji'an, Jilin, he began his career in the entertainment industry in 2004 as a host for various talk shows.He gained immense popularity and critical recognition for his directorial and starring role in the 2015 comedy film Pancake Man, which was a major box office hit in China. The success of this film established him as a commercially viable director and actor. He followed up with other notable directorial projects, including City of Rock (2017), a music-themed film that paid homage to his teenage dream of being a musician, and The Lychee Road (2025).As an actor, Da Peng has shown his range by appearing in films by several renowned directors, including Feng Xiaogang's I Am Not Madame Bovary and Cheng Er's Hidden Blade.
