Doug Cockle is a highly accomplished American actor and director, best known for his distinctive voice work in video games, most notably as Geralt of Rivia in "The Witcher" series. Born on September 16, 1970, in Twentynine Palms, California, he has spent over two decades working across various mediums including theatre, film, television, radio, video games, and corporate video.Cockle's portrayal of Geralt of Rivia in CD Projekt Red's "The Witcher" games has earned him widespread acclaim, including a nomination for a Game Award for Best Performance and a Golden Joystick Award for Best Gaming Performance for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." He has voiced Geralt since the first game in 2007 and has continued to bring the character to life in subsequent installments, including the recent animated film "The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep." His ability to deliver the character's gruff, world-weary voice has made him a beloved figure among fans.Beyond "The Witcher," Cockle has lent his voice to numerous other video games, such as "Horizon Zero Dawn," "Victor Vran," and "Soulcalibur VI" (also as Geralt). He has also worked as an acting teacher and was the Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Acting degree at the Arts University Bournemouth in the UK from 2005 to 2017.
