Dulquer Salmaan, born on July 28, 1983, is a prominent Indian actor, playback singer, and film producer who works primarily in Malayalam cinema, and also in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. The son of legendary actor Mammootty, he initially pursued a different path, earning a bachelor's degree in business management from Purdue University in the United States and working as a business manager in Dubai. However, his passion for acting led him to attend a three-month acting course at the Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai.He made his acting debut in 2012 with the Malayalam film Second Show and quickly established himself as a leading actor with critically and commercially successful films such as Ustad Hotel (2012), Bangalore Days (2014), Charlie (2015), and Sita Ramam (2022). His versatility has allowed him to transition between different film industries, making him a popular "pan-Indian" actor. He made his Tamil debut with Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (2014) and his Hindi film debut with Karwaan (2018).In addition to his acting career, Dulquer Salmaan is an entrepreneur and the founder of the film production company Wayfarer Films. He is also a well-known car enthusiast. He married architect Amal Sufiya in 2011, and they have one daughter.
