Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne is an English actor and producer renowned for his transformative performances across film, television, and theater. Born on January 6, 1982, in London, he is a graduate of Eton College and the University of Edinburgh. Redmayne began his professional career on the stage, earning acclaim for his roles in productions such as The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? and Red, the latter of which earned him the 2010 Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor. Redmayne's film breakthrough came with his portrayal of Marius Pontmercy in Les Misérables (2012). He further solidified his status as a leading actor with his Academy Award-winning performance as physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything (2014). His versatility continued with roles in The Danish Girl (2015), where he portrayed transgender pioneer Lili Elbe, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), where he starred as magizoologist Newt Scamander. In 2024, Redmayne starred in the British spy thriller television series The Day of the Jackal, based on Frederick Forsyth's novel.
