Ehsaan Noorani
Ehsaan Noorani, born on 12 October 1963 in Mumbai, is a renowned Indian guitarist and composer, best known as a member of the acclaimed music trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy. He began learning guitar at the age of 14 and later trained at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he developed a deep appreciation for blues and jazz, influenced by legends like Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Larry Carlton. After returning to India, Ehsaan made a mark as a session guitarist and jingle composer before co-founding the trio that would go on to redefine Bollywood music with pathbreaking soundtracks like Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Rock On!!. He is also the first Indian guitarist to be endorsed by Fender, with his own signature Stratocaster model. Beyond films, Ehsaan has judged India’s English music reality show The Stage and has actively supported independent artists, especially during the pandemic through online music sessions. With his versatile style and dedication to music, Ehsaan remains a pioneering figure in the Indian music industry.
