Eilidh Loan

Eilidh Loan is an acclaimed Scottish actor, writer, and director hailing from Renfrewshire. A 2018 graduate of Guildford School of Acting, she was awarded the BA Acting Prize, the Entrepreneur Award, and the prestigious Alan Bates Competition, distinguishing her early on . Her breakout as a playwright came with Moorcroft (2022), her debut play based on her Glasgow dad’s 1980s football team. It earned nominations for Best Writer at the Stage Debut Awards and two CATS Awards, toured Scotland via the Tron Theatre and National Theatre of Scotland, and landed her recognition on The Scotsman’s “Ones to Watch 2023” list. As a director and performer, Eilidh won a New York City Radio Award for Two Bad Mice and was shortlisted for Best Actress at the One Voice Awards for playing Lady Macbeth . She also wrote, directed, and starred in the short film Soul, supported by Screen Scotland and BFI’s Short Sharps initiative. On-screen, Loan has appeared in Netflix’s A Castle for Christmas, BBC’s Doctors, Clique 2, London Kills, The Sister Boniface Mysteries, and more. Her recent credits include roles in Molly Manning Walker’s feature How to Have Sex and a casting in the upcoming series of Doctor Who. She began her stage career with a touring production of Rona Munro’s Frankenstein, portraying Mary Shelley in 2019–20 . Driven by a mission to elevate working-class voices, Eilidh openly speaks about her dyslexia and her commitment to community-based storytelling and mental health advocacy.
