Emilia Clarke

Emilia Isobel Euphemia Rose Clarke MBE (born October 23, 1986, in London, England) is an English actress, best known globally for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), for which she received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Educated at Drama Centre London, her early career included a small part in the British soap opera Doctors and the TV film Triassic Attack. Beyond her breakthrough role in Game of Thrones, her notable film and television credits include playing Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys (2015), Louisa Clark in the romantic drama Me Before You (2016), Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), and the female lead in the romantic comedy Last Christmas (2019). More recently, she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2023 series Secret Invasion as G'iah. In addition to her screen work, she has appeared on stage, including a Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany's and a West End run of Chekhov's The Seagull. Following her survival of two life-threatening brain hemorrhages, Clarke, along with her mother, Jennifer Clarke MBE, co-founded the charity SameYou in 2019, which is dedicated to improving access to neuro-rehabilitation and mental health recovery for survivors of brain injury and stroke.
