Emily Carding is an award-winning British actress, writer, and theater-maker renowned for her expertise in Shakespearean performance and immersive horror. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Bretton Hall and an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter. Carding is perhaps best known for her internationally acclaimed solo stage productions, including Richard III (A One-Woman Show) and Hamlet (An Experience), both of which utilize an interactive style that transforms the audience into characters within the play. Her performance as Richard III earned her high praise, including a "Tilda Swinton-esque flair" comparison from the New York Times and various awards at the Edinburgh and Prague Fringe festivals. In the film world, Carding gained attention for her role as Maria Priddle in the 2017 British horror hit Ghost Stories, starring opposite Martin Freeman. She is set to appear in the 2026 film Return to Silent Hill in the role of Dara.
