Emma Lustres Gómez is a renowned Spanish film producer, born in 1975 in O Grove, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. A graduate in both History and Journalism, her career is defined by her role as co-founder, alongside Borja Pena, of the independent audiovisual production company Vaca Films Studio in A Coruña in early 2003. Lustres established Vaca Films with the vision of developing and producing high-quality, commercially successful feature films and series, primarily in the action and suspense genres, for the national market with strong international appeal. Under her executive leadership, Vaca Films has become one of the leading independent production companies in Spain, with its projects grossing over €50 million domestically and participating in major international festivals like Venice, Toronto, and San Sebastián. Her notable film productions include the Goya Award-winning "Celda 211" (Cell 211) (2009), "El Niño" (The Kid) (2014), "El desconocido" (Retribution) (2015), "Cien años de perdón" (To Steal from a Thief) (2016), and "Hasta el cielo" (Sky High) (2020), as well as successful series like "La Unidad" (The Unit) and "El desorden que dejas" (The Mess You Leave Behind) for platforms like Movistar+ and Netflix, respectively. Recognized for her significant contribution to Spanish cinema and her industrial ambition combined with a conscious perspective on genre and territory, Lustres has received major distinctions, including the Medalla de Oro (Gold Medal) at the Forqué Awards and the Medalla Castelao from the Xunta de Galicia.
