Eric Parkinson

Eric Parkinson is an American film producer, director, writer, and actor, born on December 15, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas. He is best known for his work in film marketing and distribution, particularly in the U.S. home video market. As CEO of Hemdale Film Corporation, Parkinson was instrumental in releasing over 1,500 titles, including major hits like The Terminator, Little Nemo, and Highlander 2. Under his leadership, Hemdale earned over 100 RIAA/ITA Gold or Platinum Best Selling video awards, with eight titles reaching #1 on the Billboard video charts. He also played a key role in placing the company's film library within the MGM-UA family of companies and was credited with paying off over $58 million in corporate debt. In 2002, Parkinson acquired Truman Press, Inc., doing business as Hannover House, and expanded its operations to include DVD products alongside book publishing. By 2010, Hannover House became a publicly traded company (OTC: HHSE). As CEO, Parkinson has overseen the release of over 450 titles to the DVD market and has refocused efforts toward the release of theatrical feature films, aligning distribution through major studio partners while maintaining direct access to major theater circuits in North America . Parkinson is also an accomplished filmmaker. He made his directorial debut with Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse (2023), in which he also co-starred. The film was released theatrically in the U.S. in late summer 2024. Additionally, he is directing and co-starring in the historic western epic Indian Territory . As of 2025, Parkinson continues to be active in the film industry, with upcoming projects including Unholy Song and Sovereign, in which he portrays Father Michael .
