Esai Manuel Morales Jr., born on October 1, 1962, is a versatile American actor of Puerto Rican descent, recognized for his compelling performances across film and television. He began his acting journey in theater productions in New York before making his film debut in Bad Boys (1983). Morales achieved significant recognition for his portrayal of Bob Morales in the Ritchie Valens biopic La Bamba (1987). His career has encompassed a wide range of roles, including Lieutenant Tony Rodriguez in the acclaimed police drama NYPD Blue, Joseph Adama in the science fiction series Caprica, and Camino del Rio in the popular Netflix series Ozark. In the Mission: Impossible franchise, he takes on the role of Gabriel, the enigmatic and dangerous antagonist in Dead Reckoning Part One (2023) and will reprise this role in The Final Reckoning (2025), posing a significant threat to Ethan Hunt.
