Ethan Browne

Ethan Browne is a New Zealand actor best known for his long-running role as Tane Parata on the popular Australian soap opera, Home and Away, which he has played since 2020. Born on October 14, 1991, Browne grew up in the small town of Wairoa, New Zealand, with an early passion for acting and martial arts, earning a black belt in Taekwondo. His dreams of acting were initially put on hold when he became a father at the age of 16, leading him to pursue a career in civil engineering. After completing his diploma and working as a civil draftsman in Brisbane, he reignited his acting ambition. He successfully auditioned and graduated from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney in 2019, landing the role of Tane Parata shortly before finishing his course. Tane is part of the show's first-ever Māori family, and Browne—who is of Māori background—has been praised for embodying the "cheeky" and "family-orientated" character. Beyond the soap, Browne has appeared in the feature film Suka and took on the role of Samuel in the 2024 action-thriller Life After Fighting.
