Ethan Cutkosky is an American actor and musician, best known for his role as Carl Gallagher on the critically acclaimed Showtime comedy-drama series Shameless. Born on August 19, 1999, in Campton Hills, Illinois, he began his acting career as a child, making an uncredited debut in Fred Claus (2007) and then gaining his first credited role in the supernatural horror film The Unborn (2009). His portrayal of the often rebellious and troubled Carl Gallagher across all eleven seasons of Shameless (2011-2021) brought him widespread recognition and allowed him to develop his acting skills on screen for over a decade. Beyond Shameless, Cutkosky has appeared in films such as Alex/October (2022) and is set to feature in the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 (2025). In addition to acting, he has also pursued a music career, releasing singles such as "Erase Me" and "Alone."
