Eva Celia Lesmana is a prominent Indonesian actress, singer-songwriter, model, and guitarist, born on September 21, 1992, in Jakarta. She is the daughter of Indonesian jazz musician Indra Lesmana and actress Sophia Latjuba, and the niece of director Mira Lesmana, growing up immersed in a family of artists. Eva Celia began her career by appearing in several television soap operas before making her film debut in the 2008 horror film Takut: Faces of Fear. She has since starred in notable films like Jamila and the President (2009), Adriana (2013), and the action film The Golden Cane Warrior (2014). Primarily a jazz, soul, and R&B artist, she released her debut single "Reason" in 2015, followed by her critically acclaimed first studio album, And So It Begins, in 2016. The album earned her nominations at the Indonesian Music Awards and Indonesian Choice Awards. Eva Celia is known for her thoughtful songwriting, often writing her lyrics in English, and for her commitment to artistic independence, having released her album on her own label.
