Ferdia Walsh-Peelo is an Irish actor and musician, born on October 12, 1999, in Ashford, County Wicklow, Ireland. He began his musical journey at a very young age, starting vocal coaching as a boy soprano at seven years old under his mother, soprano Toni Walsh. His early musical career saw him win numerous prizes and perform in productions like Mozart's The Magic Flute at age twelve and Britten's Turn of the Screw.Walsh-Peelo's acting breakthrough came with his film debut in John Carney's critically acclaimed musical comedy-drama Sing Street (2016), where he played the lead role of Conor "Cosmo" Lawlor. This role showcased both his acting and musical talents, as he sings and plays guitar and piano in the film. Following this, he gained wider recognition for his television debut as King Alfred the Great in the popular History Channel series Vikings, a role he held from 2017 to 2020.Since then, Walsh-Peelo has continued to build a diverse filmography. He appeared in the 2020 film Here Are the Young Men and received significant attention for his role as Miles in the Apple TV+ Original film CODA (2021), which won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He also starred opposite Clara Rugaard in the British-Spanish World War II drama Love Gets a Room (2021) and played Nick Kent in the biographical miniseries Pistol (2022). Looking ahead, he is slated to appear in Four Letters of Love (2025) and Juliet & Romeo (2025).
