Filippo Luna
Filippo Luna (born August 11, 1968, in Palermo) is an esteemed Italian actor and seasoned acting coach with a career spanning over three decades. Trained at the prestigious Istituto Nazionale del Dramma Antico (INDA) in Siracusa—where he studied acting, dance, and voice—he launched his professional journey on the stage, performing in classics such as Edipo Re, Antigone, and Il Ciclope under notable directors like Giancarlo Sepe, Patrice Kerbradt, and Vincenzo Pirrotta . His powerful performance in the monologue Le mille bolle blu earned him the 2010 National Critics’ Award for Theatrical Interpretation. Transitioning to screen, Luna debuted in Emanuele Crialese’s Nuovomondo (2006) and went on to build an impressive filmography, including acclaimed titles such as La matassa (2009), Viola di mare (2009), Terraferma (2011), Salvo (2013), La trattativa (2014), Lo scambio (2015), Sicilian Ghost Story (2017), Roberto Andò’s Una storia senza nome (2018), Spaccaossa (2022), La stranezza (2022), Iddu – L’ultimo padrino (2024), and most recently L’Abbaglio (2025) .
