Finbar Lynch is an Irish actor, born on August 28, 1959, in Dublin, who has built a prolific career across theatre, film, and television since 1982. Starting out as a stagehand, he got his first acting break in the Tennessee Williams play A Streetcar Named Desire, a playwright whose work would later bring him significant acclaim. In 1999, Lynch earned a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance as Canary Jim in the Broadway production of Williams' Not About Nightingales. Beyond his extensive and award-nominated stage career, he is recognizable for his recurring television roles, including the long-running Irish soap opera Glenroe, the BBC drama Proof, and various British series like Game of Thrones, Waking the Dead, and DCI Banks. His film credits include To Kill a King (2003), Child 44 (2015), and Suffragette (2015). He is married to actress Niamh Cusack, and their son, Calam Lynch, has also followed his parents into the acting profession.
