Francesco Carril

Francesco Carril is a Spanish actor, director, and writer, born in Madrid on 1986. After earning a degree from the Royal School of Dramatic Art (RESAD) in Madrid, he embarked on a diverse career in theater, film, and television. He is a prominent figure in Spanish independent cinema, and is particularly known for his frequent collaborations with director Jonás Trueba, starring in several of his films, including The Wishful Thinkers (2012), The Romantic Exiles (2015), The Reconquest (2016), The August Virgin (2019), and You Have to Come and See It (2022).Beyond his work with Trueba, Carril has appeared in other notable films like Isabel Coixet's A Love (2023) and Rodrigo Sorogoyen's miniseries The New Years (2024), for which he received a nomination for the Feroz Award for Best Actor in a Series. On stage, he has worked with the Young National Classical Theater Company and also founded his own company, Saraband. He has been nominated for a Max Award and an Actors and Actresses Union Award for his performance in the play El bar que se tragó a todos los españoles.
