Francis Lorenzo
Born in Pontevedra, Spain, on September 24, 1960, Francis Lorenzo is a prominent Spanish actor and television presenter whose career spans over three decades across film, theater, and television. Although he felt a calling for acting from an early age, he initially followed his parents' wishes to pursue a stable academic path, earning degrees in Education (Teaching) and Psychology. He eventually began his formal training in dramatic arts at the Centro Dramático Gallego and later at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, transitioning from classical theater to the screen in the late 1980s. His professional breakthrough came through television, where he became a household name in Spain. He is best known for his long-running roles in iconic series such as "Médico de familia", where he played Julio, and "Compañeros", as Alfredo Torán. One of his most celebrated performances came in the historical adventure series "Águila Roja", where he portrayed the antagonist Hernán Mejías (the Commissioner), a role that earned him the ACE Award for Best Character Actor in New York in 2011. His versatility has allowed him to move seamlessly between drama and comedy, as seen in the popular sitcom "Mis adorables vecinos" and more recent thrillers like "La caza. Monteperdido" and "El inmortal". In the world of cinema, Lorenzo has worked with renowned directors such as Vicente Aranda in "La pasión turca" and Agustín Díaz Yanes in "Nadie hablará de nosotras cuando hayamos muerto". In 2025, he returned to the big screen in the romantic heist comedy "Me has robado el corazón". Beyond acting, he has served as a presenter for programs like "España a ras de cielo" and participated in reality competitions such as "MasterChef Celebrity". He is the brother of film producer José Manuel Lorenzo and has been married to Josefa Bertila Martínez Castiñeiras since 1984, with whom he has two sons, Miguel and Javier.
