Francis Ng Chun-Yu (吳鎮宇), born Ng Chi-keung on December 21, 1961, in Hong Kong, is a celebrated actor and director known for his versatile and intense performances in film and television. He launched his career after graduating from TVB's training program in 1982, initially finding success in TV series like Old Time Buddy and the immensely popular Triumph in the Skies. Transitioning to film, he gained notoriety with roles like the villain "Ugly Kwan" in the Young and Dangerous series, and established himself as a distinguished dramatic actor, winning Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards for his role as Roy in The Mission (1999). Other critically acclaimed roles include Ngai Wing Hau in Infernal Affairs II (2003) and performances in Bullets Over Summer (1999) and Juliet in Love (2000). He also won Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for 2000 AD (2000). Beyond acting, he has directed several films, including 9413 (1998) and Tracing Shadow (2009), and continues to work extensively in both Hong Kong and Mainland China productions.
