Freida Pinto is an Indian actress who has primarily made her mark in American and British cinema. Born on October 18, 1984, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, she harbored aspirations of becoming an actress from a young age. After graduating from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, where she studied English literature, psychology, and economics, she briefly worked as a model and television presenter.Pinto shot to international stardom with her debut film, the critically acclaimed and Academy Award-winning Slumdog Millionaire (2008), where her portrayal of Latika earned her widespread recognition and several nominations, including a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress.
