Gabrielle Rose is an accomplished Canadian actress, born in Kamloops, British Columbia, in 1954. Her deep connection to the performing arts runs in her family, with her grandfather, L. Arthur Rose, being a notable playwright and producer. Gabrielle began her acting career in Britain, where she trained at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and subsequently worked in UK theatres for a decade. Upon returning to Canada, she built an extensive and celebrated film and television career spanning over 35 years, largely working within her home country.Rose is particularly recognized for her collaborations with acclaimed Canadian director Atom Egoyan, appearing in several of his films, including "Family Viewing," "Speaking Parts," "The Adjuster," and most notably, "The Sweet Hereafter" (1997), where she played Dolores Driscoll, the school bus driver at the center of the tragic story.
