Born in 1971 in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, he began his acting career in 1994 with a minor role in Shekhar Kapur's critically acclaimed film Bandit Queen. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, he built a solid reputation through a series of supporting roles in movies like Dil Se..., Black Friday, and Talvar.His career took a significant turn in 2018 with the release of the comedy-drama Badhaai Ho, where he played the lead role of a middle-aged man grappling with an unexpected pregnancy.
