Garret Dillahunt
Garret Lee Dillahunt (born November 24, 1964) is a highly respected and versatile American character actor renowned for his ability to transform completely between dramatically different roles across film and television. After studying journalism at the University of Washington and earning an MFA in acting from NYU, Dillahunt built his career primarily in television. He is famously known for playing two distinct, unrelated main characters on the celebrated HBO series Deadwood: the cowardly assassin Jack McCall (Season 1) and the ruthless geologist Francis Wolcott (Season 2). His versatility shone through in his diverse TV roles, including the kind-hearted, dim-witted patriarch Burt Chance on the Fox sitcom Raising Hope (2010–2014), for which he received a Critics' Choice nomination, the complex antagonist Ty Walker on Justified, the titular villain in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and the moral cowboy John Dorie on Fear the Walking Dead (2018–2021). Dillahunt has an equally impressive film career, appearing in supporting roles in several Oscar-winning and critically acclaimed films, such as No Country for Old Men, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Winter's Bone, and 12 Years a Slave. He is an active film actor and is part of the ensemble cast of the 2025 biographical drama Sarah's Oil, where he plays the role of Devnan, a character described as an oil magnate and a figure with villainous, predatory intentions toward the young millionaire.
