Raised in a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry—his mother, Gay, is a talent manager, and his father, Al, is a musician—Ribisi began his acting career at a young age. He appeared in television series such as My Two Dads, Blossom, and The Wonder Years during the 1980s and 1990s.
