A graduate of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, she became a cornerstone of Italian theatre through her long-standing collaboration with Giorgio Strehler at Milan's Piccolo Teatro. In theatre, she has been honored with prestigious honors including the Ugo Betti Prize (2003), Le Maschere Awards (2015, 2017), and the Ubu Prize (2017).
