Born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Ross holds a degree in Live Performance from AFDA Film College in Cape Town and began his career with a mix of modeling and acting, eventually specializing in film and "creature performing" (physical performance for CGI characters). He is most widely recognized for his role as Genzo in the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece (2023), where he played the protective father figure and sheriff of Cocoyasi Village. In the 2025 action-thriller Muzzle: City of Wolves, he plays Detective Spitzer, a key supporting character working alongside the LAPD detectives who interact with Jake Rosser (Aaron Eckhart) during his pursuit of the cartel. Beyond his recent blockbuster roles, Ross has an extensive filmography that includes appearances in the Netflix film The Kissing Booth 2, the historical miniseries Grant and Abraham Lincoln, and the high-octane series Warrior. His versatility extends to voice acting, where he has provided English dubbing for numerous foreign films and animations, and he is a familiar face on South African television, appearing in the long-running series Summertide and the crime drama Catch Me a Killer.
