Hailee Steinfeld (born December 11, 1996) is an accomplished American actress and singer who gained significant recognition early in her career for her role as Mattie Ross in the 2010 western film True Grit, which earned her Academy Award and BAFTA Award nominations. This breakthrough was followed by wider acclaim for her performances in the Pitch Perfect film series (2015–2017) and the coming-of-age film The Edge of Seventeen (2016), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. Steinfeld has also starred in films like Ender's Game (2013), Begin Again (2013), and Bumblebee (2018). Her voice acting credits include Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman in the animated films Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and its sequel, and Vi in the popular Netflix series Arcane (2021–2024). In television, she portrayed Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson (2019–2021) and has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kate Bishop since 2021, notably in the Hawkeye series and the film The Marvels.
