Hakeem Kae-Kazim

Hakeem Kae-Kazim is a highly accomplished British-Nigerian actor and producer, celebrated for his commanding screen presence and deep, resonant voice. Born on October 1, 1962, in Lagos, Nigeria, he moved to London as a child and later trained at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He began his professional career with the Royal Shakespeare Company, performing alongside legendary actors like Brian Cox and Ian McKellen, before transitioning into British television with roles in The Bill and Grange Hill. His international breakthrough came in 2004 with his chilling portrayal of the real-life Hutu militia leader Georges Rutaganda in the Academy Award-nominated film Hotel Rwanda. This performance launched a prolific career in Hollywood and global cinema, leading to roles in major blockbusters such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (as Captain Jocard), X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Godzilla vs. Kong. On television, Kae-Kazim is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Mr. Scott in the Starz pirate epic Black Sails and as the villainous Colonel Iké Dubaku in Season 7 of 24. His diverse credits also include the CW’s Dynasty reboot (as Cecil Colby), the BBC's Troy: Fall of a City (as Zeus), and voice-over work for major video game franchises like Halo and Final Fantasy. Most recently, in 2025, he appeared in the action sequel Muzzle: City of Wolves, portraying Detective Thorne opposite Aaron Eckhart.
