Hamish Linklater
Hamish Linklater is an American actor and playwright, born in New York City on July 7, 1976. The son of actress and renowned vocal trainer Kristin Linklater, he was immersed in the world of theater from a young age, often performing in small Shakespearean roles. After graduating from Amherst College, Linklater established a strong career in theater, earning critical acclaim and several awards and nominations for his work on and off Broadway.His transition to screen acting began in the early 2000s, with his film debut in Groove (2000) and a regular role in the short-lived TV series Gideon's Crossing. He gained wider recognition for his role as Matthew Kimble in the sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006–2010), and for his work in other television series such as The Crazy Ones and Legion.More recently, Linklater has received significant praise for his performance as Father Paul in the critically acclaimed Netflix horror miniseries Midnight Mass (2021), a role that earned him numerous award nominations. His film credits also include Fantastic Four, The Big Short, and 42. As a writer, he is the author of several plays. In his personal life, Linklater has been in a long-term relationship with actress Lily Rabe since 2013, with whom he has three children. He was previously married to playwright Jessica Goldberg from 2002 to 2012, and they have one daughter.
