Hannah Marks (born April 13, 1993) is an American actress, writer, and director celebrated for her dynamic presence both in front of and behind the camera. She first rose to prominence as Amanda Brotzman in BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, and appeared in notable films such as The Runaways and The Amazing Spider‑Man. Transitioning into filmmaking, she co-wrote and directed her debut feature After Everything (2018), which premiered at SXSW and led to her being named a Rolling Stone "25 Under 25 Artist Changing the World" and a Forbes "30 Under 30" in Hollywood & Entertainment. She followed that with the award‑winning romantic comedy Mark, Mary & Some Other People (2021), earning the Best Screenplay Award at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2022, Marks directed Don’t Make Me Go, starring John Cho, which garnered praise as a heartfelt father‑daughter road movie. Most recently, she directed the film adaptation of John Green’s Turtles All the Way Down, released in 2024.
