Harriet Slater is an English actress born on November 28, 1994, in Leicester, England. She began her acting journey at the age of six with the Little Theatre youth group, finding early solace and confidence in performance. Slater pursued formal training at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating with a BA in Acting in 2016. Her professional debut came that same year in The Man with the Hammer at Theatre Royal Plymouth, followed by a role in the Royal Shakespeare Company's Vice Versa at the Swan Theatre. She also performed in The Secret Seven at Storyhouse. Slater gained recognition in television for her portrayal of Sandra Onslow in the DC Universe series Pennyworth (2019–2022), a role that showcased her versatility and led to a main cast position in the later seasons. Her film debut was in the 2020 indie fantasy Emily and the Magical Journey. In 2023, she appeared in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and starred as Clara Trenchard in the period drama Belgravia: The Next Chapter (2024). She is also set to portray Ellen MacKenzie in the upcoming Outlander prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, expected to debut in 2025.
