Henry Czerny

Henry Czerny (born February 8, 1959) is a Canadian actor with a distinguished career spanning film, television, and theatre. Known for his versatility and ability to portray both sympathetic and villainous characters with equal depth, Czerny's career took off with his compelling performance as Junior in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers (1988). He gained further international recognition for his role as the duplicitous IMF director Eugene Kittridge in the first Mission: Impossible film (1996), a character who initially distrusted Ethan Hunt. After a long absence from the franchise, Czerny surprisingly reprised his role as Kittridge in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), now in a more ambiguous and potentially adversarial position. He is also set to appear in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025), suggesting Kittridge's involvement will continue to be significant.Beyond the Mission: Impossible series, Czerny has an extensive and impressive filmography, including roles in Clear and Present Danger (1994), The Ice Storm (1997), and Remember (2015). In television, he is well-known for his roles as Conrad Grayson in the ABC drama series Revenge and as Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in the Showtime historical drama The Tudors. His consistent delivery of nuanced and memorable performances has solidified his reputation as a respected and sought-after actor in the industry.
