Hervé Jolly

Hervé Jolly is a highly accomplished French actor and a very prominent figure in voice acting (comédien de doublage), born on July 23, 1948. While he has a career in film, notably appearing in works like Le Pacha (1968) and Les Mariés de l'an II (1971), he is overwhelmingly recognized for his distinct and authoritative voice work. He is most famous for being the official and long-time French voice of legendary actor-director Clint Eastwood in many of his films from the late 1990s onward, including Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, and The Mule. Beyond Eastwood, Jolly has regularly lent his voice to a wide range of distinguished actors such as Richard Schiff (notably as Toby Ziegler in The West Wing), Joe Pantoliano, Bill Nighy, and frequently to Michael Ironside and Dolph Lundgren. His versatility extends to animation, where he voiced the righteous police-dog Rex in the 2025 French animated film Pets on a Train (Falcon Express).
